Beekeepers can breed a better bee with Penn State Extension course

For beekeepers interested in developing a better bee, the Penn State Extension is offering the course Honeybee Breeding Program Design.

Participants will learn how to improve honeybee colony health, productivity and resilience with breeding techniques tailored for experienced beekeepers and queen producers.

The course contains educational videos, detailed readings, practical handouts and "Check Your Learning" questions, to explore the essentials of honeybee genetics, traits and breeding program design.

Penn State Extension is offering a course on breeding better bees geared toward beekeepers.

Participants will learn to identify and enhance desirable traits how to eliminate undesirable characteristics.
