Vermont-made Meadow Bee Deodorant wins six international awards
Vermont Business Magazine Meadow Bee Deodorant, made just outside the tiny village of Peacham in the Northeast Kingdom, wins big in the 2025 Beauty Shortlist Wellbeing Awards just announced on March 7. This contest featured both giant and little brands around the world and gave them all an equal playing field.
Contest organizers in Europe said, “It has been the strongest year ever, by far - not just the volume of entries but also the caliber and diversity of products. What these winning brands have in common is “doing things right”, fine-tuning intelligent formulations that harness the goodness and intuitive healing of Mother Nature’s plants, foods, herbs and minerals.”
Wendy Mackenzie, herbalist, formulator and maker of Meadow Bee Deodorant was thrilled. “Each of the six deodorants we entered won! Meadow Bee Deodorant not only works, it doesn’t irritate skin, stain clothing or leave white marks all over your outfits. I know it checks off all the things a natural deodorant should do and my customers love it, but to be recognized at this level is so exciting. This is a huge win for a growing business on a dirt road in a tiny town.”
Each tin of the plant-based deodorant lasts 4-5 months or longer. It offers odor protection all day long (really!) and comes in six different scents and two forms. Made with nine simple ingredients, it comes in plastic free packaging to help save the planet.
Mackenzie adds, “As a native Vermonter, Meadow Bee is made with all the Vermont values my parents taught me as a young child. I care deeply about the environment. There is a whole lot of Vermont in every tin. Each scent is named after a solitary bee found here. From sourcing organic ingredients, using planet friendly packaging, protecting pollinators and much more, Vermont is at the forefront of everything we do.”
Meadow Bee Deodorant is made at Everlasting Herb Farm, a certified Woman Owned Small Business, which was established in 2003. Everlasting Herb Farm was named the 2024 Micro-enterprise of the Year for Vermont by the Small Business Association. Mackenzie began formally learning about plants with world renown herbalist, Rosemary Gladstar, almost 25 years ago.
Meadow Bee can be found in 65 stores in 14 states. You can find it near you on the store locator map found at www.meadowbeedeodorant.com , and soon, www.meadowbee.net. It can also be ordered through their website, www.everlastingherbfarm.com.
Mackenzie says, “Meadow Bee skincare products are made from plants to soothe the skin and heal the planet. In addition to deodorant, we make lip balm, face creams, serums, lotions, and salves using high end, organic plant-based ingredients that aren’t commonly found in skin care products like red raspberry seed and watermelon seed carrier oils along with extracts from blueberry leaves and heirloom rose petals. We have 23 years of expertise behind everything we formulate, make and sell. Hard work and a tough climate can cause Vermont skin to really suffer. We make products to soothe people inside and out, so they can feel good on so many levels.”
