후쿠시마 수산물 방출로 인한 일본산 수산물 수입 급감

8월 중국의 일본산 수산물 수입량은 전년 동월 대비 67.6%로 크게 감소했습니다. 이러한 감소세는 일본이 후쿠시마 제1 원자력 발전소의 처리된 폐수를 바다에 방류하기로 결정한 시기와 밀접한 관련이 있습니다. 일본산 해산물의 최대 수입국인 중국은 방류된 폐수에 대한 우려에 따라 즉각 일본산 해산물 수입을 전면 금지했습니다. 이 방류 과정은 30년에 걸쳐 진행될 것으로 예상됩니다.

국제적 대응 및 소비자 우려

한국은 일본의 수처리 계획이 해양 방류에 대한 국제 기준을 충족한다고 확인했음에도 불구하고 일본산 수산물 수입이 5개월 연속 감소세를 보이고 있습니다. 8월에는 전년 대비 일본산 수산물 수입액이 24.9% 감소하며 수입액이 2년 만에 최저치를 기록했습니다.

홍콩특별행정구와 마카오특별행정구도 8월에 도쿄와 후쿠시마를 포함한 일본 10개 지역의 수산물 수입을 금지하는 조치를 취했습니다.

반면 싱가포르는 일본산 식품 수입 안전에 대한 신뢰를 유지하고 있습니다. 싱가포르 식품청은 방사능 수치를 포함한 감시 결과가 만족스럽다고 발표했습니다. 그러나 소비자들은 소셜 미디어를 통해 장기적인 건강 영향에 대한 우려를 표명하고 있으며, 이로 인해 해조류와 멸치 등의 식품 사재기가 발생하고 있습니다.

일본 수산업 부문에 대한 보호 조치

이러한 상황을 해결하기 위해 일본 정부는 수산물 수출 감소로 어려움을 겪고 있는 현지 수산업계를 지원하기 위해 207억 엔(약 1억 4100만 달러) 규모의 추가 지원책을 발표했습니다. 이번 발표는 수산물 기업을 지원하고 위기 속에서 일본 제품의 명성을 회복하기 위해 마련된 기존 800억 엔(약 5억 5,000만 달러) 규모의 기금을 보완하는 것입니다.
